About Replit

Let's start by talking about what is Replit. Replit is a platform that you can use to code and make apps. Teachers and learners  or beginners can use it. So what is a coding platform? A coding platform that enables you to write code, make apps, launch apps, and change code.

How did I sign up

  1. First I clicked the sign up button

  2. Second, I entered the username and password that I wanted.

  3. Then I had to take a test to prove was not a robot

  4. Finally I selected a few fields so I could have the right tools I needed.

There are many ways to use Replit. When I started I just played around with the tools. You can use Replit to make fancy applications, to showcase your code, for an at home project, to help others, or simply to explore. For my first project I wanted to explore different HTML(or Hypertext Markup Language) commands so I created a project and spent the next hour typing different commands with some of my friends during a coding class that we do as a group.

I first tried using GitHub Codespaces after a week I switched to Replit because GitHub Codespaces kept timing out.I like Replit a lot because it is very simple and easy to use. Me and my friends do coding every week but it is our first week using Replit. I personally love it because using it I have already completed 1 more project and loved it.

       On Friday after the power went out, making our whole neighborhood suddenly dark, my parents decided to go to their  work to get internet. Having nothing better to do other than read but it was too dark I decided to listen to music and  an audiobook, while looking out of the window with my only source of light being a small flashlight. My expirence at the Whitewater Center Rock Ride Paddle camp

  The Whitewater camp called Rock, Ride, Paddle is a one week long camp in which you do various activities throughout the week. Some of the activities include whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. There are other camps like Adventure camp but they are not focused on certain activities. Below are the activities we did and how each of them were. Whitewater Kayaking Whitewater kayaking is when you ride rapids and learn how to control a kayak. The first thing you learn is  how to put on the gear and after that you learn how to wet exit if you flip over. After that you get in the  water and practice. We were supposed to kayak for around 2 hrs per day but the first day that we were  supposed to kayak they were testing the water and didn't want people in the water. Why we shouldn't give participation trophies

            The tradition of giving participation trophies started in 1922 when a basketball team in Ohio gave its players the trophies. They give kids participation trophies to make them feel good about playing the sport. The trophies are usually awarded to the players that don't score high. However, participation trophies are not only awarded to kids they are also given to older age groups and for other activities not just Basketball.
