My 21-22 journal 4th grade

 

8/16/22

Since my mom runs a company, over the summer I went to their office space. At 

their office space I did some chores, read, did some coding, and a ton of art. After 

4 weeks me and my parents went to the beach. It was raining while we were driving 

but in the end we got there. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I did surfing lesson

s. Then on Friday we rented a surfboard for the day.   


8/30/21

My favorite subject at school is media. The teacher who teaches media is Mrs.Gates.

We have media in the library at school. Media is one of our specials and specials 

happen every day after math so on certain days after math in the morning we would 

go to media. I like media because I love to read and sort out books and Mrs.Gates 

will sometimes let me sort out books. I also like Media because I like to help people 

find books.


9/10/21

A time I helped someone was when my friend had a dance recital and had to 

practice. I helped her by telling her if she did something wrong and holding up the 

video/phone. Her recital was in a few days. So we practiced in the car, in her house, 

and even in an empty parking lot! We had to go out shopping but when we came 

back we still practiced. At the end of the day she was so smooth at her dance.



9/22/21

If I could go anywhere in the universe I would go to Hawaii. I would go to Hawaii for 

3 reasons because 1 because I love, love, love adventurous and to explore new places.

2  I love to get in the water and climb trees. And third, I love to take risks. If I went to 

Hawaii I would get in the water and take a ton of risks.

Once upon a time, a child woke up as a turtle! The child thought that his friends 

were playing a trick on him and that they just dressed him up. He thought that 

until … he tried to pull off the shell but the shell wouldn't come off! So he became 

very scared and started to run around fast. Suddenly he crashed into the wall and 

his shell came off! He wiped his face and found that it was just green face paint. 

Then he heard giggling from his closet, he opened the doors and his parents and 

friends fell out laughing and screaming April fools!


11/19/21

I love slime because it is sticky and you can make bubbles with it. At first when you 

try to make bubbles it can be very very tricky but with practice you can make them 

in different variations/shapes. To make bubbles you spread out the slime then kind

of flip it over on a flat surface so that a bubble forms.



12/9/21

I am looking forward to winter break because it is almost Christmas and the last 

day of break is my birthday. I am hoping that after my break starts that i can go 

ice skating more often and wake up late. I am not happy to take a break because 

it is 2 long weeks away from my friends. But on Saturday the week of my field trip I 

get to have a sleepover with my friend and on Sunday I can go to sleep late 

because Monday is the first day of break.


1/5/22

My favorite part of winter break was my birthday because I got to go to Frankies. 

My parents took me to Frankies and put around 80 dollars on the card then let me 

go around and spend it however and wherever I wanted. I also got 2 new games for 

my Nintendo switch and 2 more controllers. At Frankies my dad played laser tag 

with me. It was super challenging and fun. We had teams so it was hard to avoid 

accidentally hitting your team members. It was super fun.


1/19/22

In 100 years the world will look taller because the buildings will be taller. The 

buildings will be taller because the earth will be overpopulated. Also we will have 3 

more new replicas of earth. And we will have more advanced technology allowing 

us to transport. And also to pay you could just scan your watch or bracelet. 


02/10/2022

One time I had a hard challenge challenging my brain ,I had to figure out 5 really 

hard math problems in 30 minutes and 10 seconds. All the problems were for 9th 

grade and above and we could not work with partners. But when the results came 

back it turned out that me and 1 other girl got ⅘ and the top in fifth grade was only 

⅗ so me and the other girl both were top in fourth grade and higher than the fifth 

grade

One time a mistake I made turned out good was when… it was raining and I was 

about to start the dishwasher and go upstairs and I accidentally pressed the 

button twice. Then the power went out since I pressed the button twice so we did 

not waste the water.

In 5th grade the 3 things I am looking forward to are…

1 i want make more friends

2 i want to learn more math

3 I want to have another go at the math Olympiad.

       On Friday after the power went out, making our whole neighborhood suddenly dark, my parents decided to go to their  work to get internet. Having nothing better to do other than read but it was too dark I decided to listen to music and  an audiobook, while looking out of the window with my only source of light being a small flashlight. However before  my father, left he boiled water and put it In a thermos so I could make ramen later,      Because I had nothing to do I used the hall to practice volleyball. My expirence at the Whitewater Center Rock Ride Paddle camp

  The Whitewater camp called Rock, Ride, Paddle is a one week long camp in which you do various activities throughout the week. Some of the activities include whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. There are other camps like Adventure camp but they are not focused on certain activities. Below are the activities we did and how each of them were. Whitewater Kayaking Whitewater kayaking is when you ride rapids and learn how to control a kayak. The first thing you learn is  how to put on the gear and after that you learn how to wet exit if you flip over. After that you get in the  water and practice. We were supposed to kayak for around 2 hrs per day but the first day that we were  supposed to kayak they were testing the water and didn't want people in the water. Why we shouldn't give participation trophies

            The tradition of giving participation trophies started in 1922 when a basketball team in Ohio gave its players the trophies. They give kids participation trophies to make them feel good about playing the sport. The trophies are usually awarded to the players that don't score high. However, participation trophies are not only awarded to kids they are also given to older age groups and for other activities not just Basketball.
