when we went to Virginia for 5 days

 

Day1 

To get to school I went on the early 7:00 bus and worked at my before school job for safety patrol 

by opening car doors for 50 minutes. Then after safety patrol I went up to class and found out 

that only 12 kids came to school. Since there were so few kids, my teacher let us do whatever 

we wanted and not study. I ended up helping my teacher organize the room and set up her 

bulletin board.After school my mom picked me up from the bus and we went home to finish 

packing for Virginia. When my dad got home we loaded all the luggage into my moms car and 

started driving. We packed two suitcases and two backpacks. After driving for a couple of hours 

we stopped for dinner at pirates landing. It was designed in the shape of a ship and the staff was 

very kind and joyful. The food was great and after we finished we continued on our way to Virginia.

We were going to go to my dads sisters place but while my parents were making the plans they 

decided that we would stop for one night at natural bridge then we were planning to spend the 

next day at Washington D.C. and in the evening drive to my aunt's place. When we got to 

natural bridge we checked into the hotel and went up to our room.

 

Day2  

On Friday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel we were staying at. Then we went 

on a walk to the natural bridge. To get to the bridge we had to walk on a path lined 

with plants. Once we walked for 2 minutes we got to a little building where we had 

to buy tickets. We bought the tickets we continued on to the bridge. When we 

arrived at the bridge we spent about 3 minutes looking for George Washington's 

initials. After we got back to the hotel we packed up our luggage and loaded the 

car then we checked out.Then we drove to Washington DC and went straight to the spy museum. 

When we got there we looked for a place to park, we found a place but it was only for 2 hours 

so my dad would have to come back to the car to change it but luckily he would be 

able to get back into the museum again. In the spy museum we were each given 

an id card, special info, and a mission to complete. As we progressed through the 

museum we had to gather info. After we finished the spy museum we went on a 

tour of DC from 7 o’clock to 10:45. We saw the Lincoln Memorial and other 

significant places. Then we picked up the car and headed to my dads sister's 

house. We got there at around 11:30, then we went to bed and slept well.

 

Day3  

On Saturday I woke up and after breakfast took a ride in their Tesla it was smooth and very quiet. Then I played Mario Kart 8 deluxe on my Nintendo switch. Then some of our other relatives came over. They had a daughter named Sanjana who is in 8th grade and we ended up spending most of the day with them. When they came over we played prime count, code names, and apples to apples. Then we went over to Sanjana’s house and played table tennis and exploding kittens. When we got back to my aunt’s house we ate dinner then we went downstairs to the mini theater in their basement. We watched an Indian movie then we said good night and went to bed.

 

Day4 

On Sunday we played a few rounds of code names then I made some bookmarks. After that we decided to go to a buffet. We went to the Golden corral which i loved. I had 3 plates one plate was a small appetizer the second plate was a main meal then the last had some desserts but not too many then I got 2 ice cream cones because the first cone tasted more like ice. Then when we got back we played code names again. Then we decided to watch Star Wars so we started episode lll revenge of the sith. Then we ate dinner while trying to watch star wars. After dinner we stopped watching the movie and watched mandalorian instead. But before we started watching it I changed into my PJ's. After we finished watching we said good night and went to bed.

 

Day5 

On Monday we started packing the two suitcases and two backpacks to come back home. On our way back we stopped in DC again, at the national air and space museum. At the museum we saw old ship pieces like the Wright Flyer and got to enter 2 small plane parts and the control panels but they were older and had a lot of knobs and switches. There was also a planetarium inside so we went to see it. It was having shows so we watched one of the shows in the planetarium there were a lot of stars and it showed the past and said how we could predict what would happen in space in the future. After the museum we started home. On the way we stopped only once at Pilot i got a small snack then we arrived home.

       On Friday after the power went out, making our whole neighborhood suddenly dark, my parents decided to go to their  work to get internet. Having nothing better to do other than read but it was too dark I decided to listen to music and  an audiobook, while looking out of the window with my only source of light being a small flashlight. My expirence at the Whitewater Center Rock Ride Paddle camp

  The Whitewater camp called Rock, Ride, Paddle is a one week long camp in which you do various activities throughout the week. Some of the activities include whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. There are other camps like Adventure camp but they are not focused on certain activities. Below are the activities we did and how each of them were. Whitewater Kayaking Whitewater kayaking is when you ride rapids and learn how to control a kayak. The first thing you learn is  how to put on the gear and after that you learn how to wet exit if you flip over. After that you get in the  water and practice. We were supposed to kayak for around 2 hrs per day but the first day that we were  supposed to kayak they were testing the water and didn't want people in the water. Why we shouldn't give participation trophies

            The tradition of giving participation trophies started in 1922 when a basketball team in Ohio gave its players the trophies. They give kids participation trophies to make them feel good about playing the sport. The trophies are usually awarded to the players that don't score high. However, participation trophies are not only awarded to kids they are also given to older age groups and for other activities not just Basketball.
