day1
We made it to the airport, and things started off a little stressful. One person in our group didn’t show up on time, which made us worry about missing the flight. Luckily, I had a bit of good luck at TSA, since I passed through security on the first try something I hadn’t done in a while. Since our flight was delayed, we had extra time to grab a bite to eat at the airport. I picked yogurt and fruit at this sit down restaurant near the gate, which was light but kept me full for the trip. Once we finished eating, we boarded our flight to New York. The flight was only about an hour and a half, so it went by pretty quickly.
After we landed in New York, things got a little hectic again. We almost missed our connecting flight to London Heathrow, and we had to rush to the gate. We got there just as they were about to close the boarding doors, but since we had a group of seven, they were kind enough to wait a bit for us. Once we were on the plane, I settled in and watched MEG3N and played Block Blast to pass the time. There were a lot of empty seats, so each person in our group had a row to ourselves, which was really nice. I took a short nap of about 1hr, and after waking up, I had a waffle snack to keep my energy up before landing in London.
When we finally arrived in London, everything went pretty smoothly. We went through immigration and customs, which wasn’t too complicated. Then we took a bus to the hotel, which was located between London and Canterbury. The bus ride felt a little long, but it gave us a chance to relax and enjoy the views of the city. Once we reached the hotel, everyone was pretty tired from the long journey. We had a simple dinner and then went straight to bed to get some rest before the next day’s adventures.
The hotel was a nice, quiet place to rest after a busy day of traveling. We all shared stories about the flight Dinner was simple but good, and after we finished eating, we didn’t stay up long. The beds were super comfy. Tomorrow was going to be exciting because we’d be exploring Canterbury with a more exploring based and a little guided section part of the tour, but for now, I was just ready to rest. Travel days can be exhausting, but they’re always worth it when you get to see new places.
